Local Color-Yarnbombing

I’ve been noticing more and more yarnbombings around Birmingham as I walk the dog, go out for drinks, and visit shops. I’ve decided to start adding posts highlighting some of these fun pieces of crafty installation art, to share with those of you in other places. Are you seeing yarnbombings, yarn graffiti, or as my friend Nancy likes to call them: yarnhugs (to promote non-violence), around your city? Send me some pics! I’d love to do a round up! I saw this piece wrapped around a street sign on 8th Ct S as I walked near the Avondale School near my apartment. It’s tall, and the stitches are big! The knitter who made it used several strands of yarn held together. My dog was very patient as I snapped a few photos.
