I love getting mail. Sure, sometimes it’s bills, but often my mail carrier brings me delightful things like yarn and knitting books. This time, she brought me a package with a bottle of wool wash and a sweet handwritten note from my friend and fellow designer, Kristin Omdahl!

Kristin teamed up with Eucalan to create a new scent of their classic delicates wash, this time scented with Night Blooming Jasmine, called Wrapture. As I opened it, the scent was so enticing. I’m don’t normally gravitate toward many floral scents (I’m a woodsy sandalwood kind of girl), but the jasmine is delicate and beautifully balanced.

I picked out a few items to wash, some fingerless mitts and a crocheted chullo hat, and filled the sink with lukewarm water. I added a small amount of Wrapture; a dollop, or what I call a “bloop”, straight from the bottle. I swished it around and then added my woolies, gently squeezing them to be sure they were saturated. Then I let them soak for about 20 minutes before squeezing out the excess water and rolling in a towel. No rinsing is necessary with Eucalan, which I love. One less step! Then they went on the mesh drying rack.
A hint of that glorious jasmine scent stays with the handwashed items, so if you see me this autumn with my fingerless mitts pressed to my nose, you’ll know why.
Want to try Wrapture on your handknits? Kristin and Eucalan have very sweetly offered to provide a bottle for a giveaway! Leave a comment below before 8 am CST, Tuesday, October 30th, for a chance to win.
Entries are now closed. Thanks for commenting to win! I’ll post the winner shortly.
Remember a couple weeks back when I talked about going to Denver to make a class with Craftsy?
It’s ready!!! I’m so excited!
The class is The Seamless Artemisia Sweater, and features a top-down, seamless set-in sleeve construction, knit-in pockets, hourglass waist shaping, and a delicate lace panel at the neckline.

Students are beginning to enroll (and my brain is amazed by how many people want to take my class right away. Seriously, WOW.), and I’ve been answering student questions already.
I’m in love with the Craftsy class format. As someone who’s been both a teacher and a student in other online class format, this platform is amazing. Easy to navigate and full of features. It’s also making it really easy to keep up with my students to help them quickly and clearly. Plus, once you’re in the class, you’re IN. Replay lessons as often as you need to, they won’t expire. So if life gets hectic, you can come back to class at your own pace. Awesome!

I’ve just caught up from a BIG summer project, and now I can tell you all about it!
I spent all of August working on a new design for a Craftsy knitalong, the Artemisia pullover. It was a blast to design and knit! I went to Denver last month to film the KAL class at the Craftsy studios.
The filming was way less scary than I would have thought, since being in front of the camera usually gives me jitters. Danica, the hair and makeup artist, made me look great every morning, and the film crew was great and very relaxed (which made me relax!).
Denver was fun, I love that town and got to visit Colorado friends. We visited lots of local spots for delicious food and drinks, like Vesta, Linger, and the historic Brown Palace. On the last evening there, Stefanie Japel and Liz Gipson (the amazing women who had held my hand from start to finish while we developed the class) took me out for celebratory drinks and eats.
I can’t wait to share the Artemisia Craftsy class with you as soon as it’s released! Stay tuned!
